As Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit organization, Janis brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to social justice issues. She holds a TESL Certificate, studied at the University of Manitoba in their Bachelor of Social Work program, and at Centennial College as a Teacher of Adults.
She has completed all 4 levels of the Self-Mastery courses offered by Advanced Wellness. Janis is a much sought after program developer, presenter, and guest speaker and has taught at the York Regional District School Board, the Durham District School Board, the Centre for Lived Language and the Mind, Body, Spirit Retreats offered by the Women’s Travel Network. In 2013 she created Student Unity Project (“SUP”), a registered charity, in order to bring an innovative and solution based model to youth facing the ever increasing culture of bullying.
In her spare time Janis is an avid runner and has run 4 half marathons, often raising money for Student Unity Project. She says that all her energy comes from working out three times a week with a personal trainer. She lives with her husband and two dogs in Whitby, Ontario.
